Main content start

The Water Associated Health and Environmental Air Damages (WaterAHEAD) model is software that our group has developed to estimate the air emission externalities associated with water treatment.  It consists of three parts.  The first part inventories the electricity, thermal, and chemical inputs to the water treatment process.  The second estimates the emissions from these inputs.  And the third estimates the spatially resolved air emission damages associated with these emissions.  In our own work, the WaterAHEAD model has served as the basis for Gingerich et al. PNAS 2017Gingerich and Mauter ES&T 2017, and Gingerich and Mauter ES&T 2018.  Please send us feedback on this model at water.ahead@gmail.com and cite your use of the model as DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/P28AX.

The models and its underlying data is published through the Open Science Foundation at WaterAHEAD.
